The solar beacon reference design resistors R10-R14 are not available from the large web distributors. For instance, the 30M resistor is only available in 5% tolerance. Can you provide a source for these resistors please?

Difficult to obtain the high-ohmage resistors in the solar beacon reference design. Will 5% resistors suffice or do the resistors have to be 1% tolerance.

  • I believe 30M 5% tolerance would be fine. The only difference between 1 and 5% tolerance will be that the actual turn on/off voltage levels might be changed somewhat because of the inaccuracy of the resistor value. Another approach could be to combine two low tolerance resistors.

  • Thank you, TORS. I appreciate your interest and the time you took to provide an answer. I'm using the Nordic-supplied Gerber. So, combining the resistors will take some "artwork" :-) My FAE suggested getting a bag of 5% resistors and culling out the 1%-ers. So, far it looks like I'll have to make an attempt with the 5% parts and see if it all works out. Thanks again, TORS.
