change eddystone_url_data from android app

Hi,

I want to change eddystone_url_data parameter in experimental_ble_app_eddystone (C:\Keil_v5\ARM\PACK\NordicSemiconductor\nRF_Examples\10.0.0\ble_peripheral\experimental_ble_app_eddystone) demo code using android app(can be custome app).

What changes I will have to make in experimental_ble_app_eddystone demo code so that whatever app type as url and sends to beacon, becon will broadcast that url later.

Please forward me useful/needful links or guide me on these issues.

Hi,

To be able to change the URL data from an app, you need to make your Eddystone Beacon connectable. The experimental_ble_app_eddystone example in the SDK is limited to advertising, so you need to edit it if you want to be able to connect to the beacon.

Please have a look at the old nrf5-sdk-for-eddystone found on GitHub for ideas on how to allow connections to your device. When this is working, you can use Android-nRF-Beacon-for-Eddystone to edit the URL, or do it manually by updating the characteristics using nRF-Connect.
