Jlink unable to find nRF52DK - PCA10040

Hello,

I purchased a nRF52DK to migrate my older projects running on nRF51822. Version of the board is V.1.1.0 / 2016.19

I followed the 'Getting started' guide from Nordic (www.nordicsemi.com/.../Getting-started-with-the-nRF52-Development-Kit).

I plugged my board & switched it on. The board is well-powered. With buttons 1 to 4, I can make LED 1 to 4 pulsate.

LED5 (the one near the SEGGER Debugger) is blinking very fast.

And then, nothing...

  • The board does not appear as a JLink drive (either on Windows or on Mac).
  • Using nrfjprog command line, I get the following error 'ERROR: There is no debugger connected to the PC.' (either on Windows or on Mac)
  • Using Jlink command line, I get the following error 'Connecting to J-Link via USB...FAILED: Can not connect to J-Link via USB' (either on Windows or on Mac)
  • The board is not recognized in nRFGo Studio (Windows only, no Mac version for nRFGo Studio).

In the same time, all these tools work for my older nRF51 boards.

As stated in this topic (devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../), it seems I don't 'have an interface MCU running SEGGER firmware'.

How to solve this? (By the way, I am able to enter bootloader mode on the board pressing BOOT/RESET button when powering on but I do not know what to do after this).
