Bluetooth conduction earbuds, through the head or around the head

If I have Bluetooth earbuds, one set to master and the other a slave on my ears.

Is the communication between the ears, through the head, or around the head (Hair scalp) via the 2.45 GHz link. BTLE 0 dbM path loss etc will not allow it. BT class say 20 dBm 100mW is this enough RF power.

Because of the high water content in your body the signal will not go through the head. Instead you have to rely on reflections from walls around you.

If you are in an open field without anything to reflect the signals off of you might struggle to get a link ;)
