Implementation of DFU in a central device without any button

Hello all.

I am now making a central device to control a peripheral device. The Firmware of central device is supposed to be updated by Smart Phone, like iOS or Android.

Is it possible to update the firmware without use of any button? Since the device is so small, the central device does not have any button. Can the central device advertise DFU service to update FW thorough smart phone?

I already checked the similar question here devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../ But I could not find any clew.

Hi,

Check out the Buttonless DFU Template Application in SDK 12.1. Typically, a central device does not advertise anything, however the S130/S132 softdevices is capable of being in central and peripheral mode concurrently. This enables your central to advertise the Buttonless DFU Service while scanning or being connected to other peripherals.
