can i use timer as a rtc?

hello sir, i m using gcc tool chain setup in windows with sdk12 in pca10028... so can i useexample->peripharal-> timer example same as rtc ... i mean sleep condition same as rtc.. and interrupt accurecy same as rtc because i want to 1s interrup for calanter... but inside only 0.125s interrupt... and power consumption same as rtc...

You can read about the differences between RTC and Timers in this answer. The timer library is based on RTC1, which is very power efficient. This can be used to create timers for wakeup from sleep.
