Download nRF51 SDK without Eval/Dev Kit

Hi,

I bought the nrf51822 chip itself, and created my own board. Now, can I still download the nRF51 SDK as per nAN-29?

I am stucked with the download page asking for product key - I am more than happy to send you photos of the chip and the board.

Thank you!

  • No I believe you have to buy an Eval or Dev kit to gain access to the SDK and Soft Device files...

If you buy the Development kit (as well as the 2 modules that connect to the $400 nrfGo motherboard) you get the Segger JLink-Lite which you'll need to programming the chip.

The Segger JLink on the Eval PCB only lets you program/debug the on-board processor.

If you've done your own PCB then I'd suggest the Dev kit to get the JLink-Lite. If you've got another JLink already then the Eval kit provides convenient access to all the GPIO pins.
