Modify PCA10036 to PCA10040

I took a look into the PCA10040 and the differences from PCA10036, seems to be minimal... NFC connector and some breaking points. My question is: if somebody from Nordic involved in these boards development can confirm me that a replace of the NRF52832 will make my PCA10036 into a PCA10040.

In case of me missing some major big difference please let me know, to see if I can live with it or not.

Many thanks, Diogo

  • There are no major differences between the boards(schematic/PCB). The major difference is that PCA10036 was just a preview development kit, with an early, un-complete nRF52 mounted(engineering A). It is therefore strongly recommended to switch to PCA10040 (revision 1 chip). You can find the errata for the engineering A here (new link), to find what features are missing or not functioning properly.
