Core specification compliant

Hi all

Is possible from softdevice or from program application edit the GAP service? I know this service is mandatory but what about edit the structure which is shown on the GATT server. I mean instead of it include the device name, appearance and peripheral preferred connection parameters. It just show the device name(Doing the rest internally without being shown in the GATT) + own customized services:

In case this is possible could it affect the Core specification compliant and preclude a bluetooh certification?

Thanks

  • Hi Sigurd,

Thanks for your quick response and clarify about edit the Generic Access Service.

Hypothetical scenario: if this would be possible editing the softdevice at some level and if I was able to keep only the generic access service (UUID 0x1800) and UUID 0x2A00(device name) not characteristics(0x2A01 and 0x2A04) this will affect the Bluetooth Core specification compliant?

I was able to do something similar using other manufacturer and I would like to do the same with a nRF52

    Thanks
