reference design for duty cycled nRF5x

Is there such a thing? For ultra-low, harvested power, how do you recommend powering the nRF5x: load switching Vcc or leaving Vcc connected and hold the reset pin low until Vcc is above 1.8V?

devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../ seems to say that load switching is preferred, because holding reset active still draws hundreds of uA (there is no product specification for current in that condition.)

I have tried a voltage monitor loadswitching Vcc from a small (say ten mF) capacitor, and not had much luck in reliably starting up.

There is also another post about energy harvesting using TI Bq22xxx energy harvesting, but no results are provided.
