nRF52832 and mbed compatibility

We are designing an additional "mbed-host board" that makes our nRF52832 based sensor board mbed-compatible ("Aistin Blue-2" board, see predecessor e.g. at www.kionix.com/iot-evaluation-and-development-kit). However, we are unsure whether the reset line of the nRF52832 needs to be connected into the mbed host board or not? Best solution for us would be that only SWDCLK, SWDIO, GND and Vcc would be connected. Is that enough?

Hi,

Yes, that is enough. You don't need to connect the reset-line(P0.21/RESET) to the interface MCU. You can reset the nRF52832 using only the SWD interface. This is also the method used by the Segger J-Link Debugger when it’s resetting the nRF52 on the nRF52-DK.
