Distance estimation with nRF8002

I have a nRF8002, I use nRFgo Studio to program the board, and Master Control Panel on Windows to check it board values.

I would like to be able to recognize when the nRF8002 Module has a distance bigger tham 5 meters from the master emulator.

How can I estimate the distante between the two objects?

You can estimate distance based on RSSI, but this may not be very precise. With the Master Control Panel, it's only possible to monitor the RSSI for connecting devices, but for these, you can see the RSSI…

You can estimate distance based on RSSI, but this may not be very precise. With the Master Control Panel, it's only possible to monitor the RSSI for connecting devices, but for these, you can see the RSSI next to their name, as shown in the attached screenshot.

Similar functionality is most often also available in smart phones (i.e. Android and iOS), and is used in for example nRF Proximity for iOS.
