Which BLE IC i need ?

Hello Nordicsemi,

i need to develop a system in which i have identify a user presence in a particular area for that i m planing to design a BLE enable device for a user which broadcast it's information just like beacons and at the receiver end my another system consisting of BLE as receiver will detect the signals and based on its signal strength will confirm its presence

later i have to send this information to a IOT platform using a wifi connection

i am very new to this BLE Modules or Chips my questions are

1. which IC will suit my application best ?
2. how to proceed with respect to hardware and software

It sounds like just a bog-standard beacon application - so pretty much any BLE module should do (the "receiver" end will need to be capable of the "Central" role).

Why not start with a beacon kit: www.nordicsemi.com/.../nRF51822-Bluetooth-Smart-Beacon-Kit

Or there are beacon examples for the various Dev Kits; eg, infocenter.nordicsemi.com/index.jsp

Definitely i will be using a module or development kit in initial stage of development.

Also my application require wifi to be used in receiver side can wifi modules like esp8266 or other SPI devices or may be a OLED display be interfaced with this chip assuming 32-bit ARM Cortex M0 CPU with 256kB flash and 16kB RAM.

Does this means that i can directly communicated to the cloud service?

SDK's are free to use or what?

The article is talking about IPv6 over BLE. The SDK you need for this is the IoT SDK, see here. You also need a BLE enabled router. This can for example be a raspberry pi. There is one problem here and that is that most networks are IPv4, but you can fix this by for example using tunneling.
