Problems with BLE Mesh Example

Good day, I tried the BLE Mesh Example located: devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../

... and for some reason it is not working for me. I posted a comment where the example is posted, but I have not heard back after several days.

I am using one nRF51 dev board, and two nRF51 USB dongles. I did download and install latest J-link software which updated the dev board and dongles. All devices are found within RFConnect (i.e. the device IDs are shown in the "devices to program" window) and I am able to successfully program the official mesh firmware into them just like the example's video (my log matches the video's log). However, when I view RTT-Log I do not get any information... and also the LEDs on the dev board and the dongles are not flashing like they are in example's video. Would someone be able to assist me as to what I have done wrong, as I followed the example exactly multiple times and I cannot get the devices to communicate with one another.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Sam

  • Good day Sigurd,

    Thanks again for your response.

On my nRF51-DK I only have one LED and is on. I have two dongles and their LED are both on. None are flashing, simply solid.

Indeed, the firmware image is the same as what I have programmed. To double check I re-programmed the units with the one you referenced and I see the same issue. Is it possible that the JLink driver is somehow affecting the devices from working? I ask, as the DK and dongle LEDs flash when I remove and reinsert them into the USB ports to the point where Jlink driver loads (i.e. to where i can see the device IDs in the "Devices to Program" list within nRF Connect.

    Cheers,

    Sam
