Not able to connect to NRF52 DK with hcitool

Has anyone had issues with connecting to the nrf52 DK with linux hcitool? I am able to see the device's MAC address and name (using HRM example design) with hcitool lescan, but I am not able to establish a connection ever if I do hcitool info or hcitool lecc . I am using bluez 5.43 and nRF sdk v12.1.0. I'm also able to connect and read/write characterstics via the nRF connect android app.

Any ideas much apprecated!

So what is the error message you are getting? Did you try to add --random to the hcitool lecc command?

Hi Stian,

The error message I was getting was the connection timed out. Adding the --random switch resolved the issue though for me! Would you mind explain to me what this setting does and why it is needed for the nRF softdevice?

This is to specify the address type. You can read more about the different types here: devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../

Why this has to be specified in the hcitool command I'm not sure, it's specific to the hcitool implementation.
