nrf52DK can't get rid of the HRM demo

Just got my nrf52DK and connecting and dropping the HRM demo to it worked like a charm but since then, all attempts to get something else to run failed. Erasing all and reprogramming other hex files via nrfgo (windows) or SES (on both windows/mac) seem to report succesfull but the board keeps functioning per the HRM demo and advertising as Nordic_HRM. Erasing all silences the blinking and advertising but dropping the proximity demo hex file to the JLINK drive again gives me a blinking and Nordic_HRM advertising (??). I also tried to first erase then upload the S132 V3.1.0 softdevice and then the app hex but all the same. Anyone any hints ?

Turn off then on the Bluetooth setting on your phone. You will see the new advertisement. The problem is the cache in the phone that keep the old data. Since there is no details, I am guessing you are using a phone to see the device.

I'm indeed checking with a phone, with LightBlue explorer and nRF Connect, never heard about caching but tried anyway by killing the apps, disable Bluetooth and back on again, restarted app - same Nordic_HRM. As the nrf52DK board flashes at the HRM demo rate, I'm quite convinced it's still running that same code for some reason.
