Are nRF5x official devkits CE/FCC certified?

If I want to use official devkits (like nRF51/2-DK) for a project do I need to test and certify them for FCC/CE? Does FCC apply even on the software running on the device or it's just a matter of hardware?

    Hi,

    Our DK is not certified for CE/FCC. You need to it on your own. And what Roger said is correct, you need to re-certify if you connect any other hardware to it.

    FCC applies for the hardware not the software. Approval is done with the transmitter emitting a modulated carrier at 100 % duty cycle and with worst case scenario (max TxPower for example).
