What is the Characteristic UUID 0x2AA6 under Generic Access Service

What is the Characteristic UUID 0x2AA6 It shows up as the 4th Charateristic under the Generic Access Service, in the nrf5-ble-tutorial-characteristic-CompletedCode ported for SDK 13

It is defined as Central Address Resolution under Bluetooth Developer Studio Characteristics

BUT: It shows up just as a UUID 2AA6, Value: 01

Q1 What is Characteristic UUID 0x2AA6 doing here? Q2 So the Generic Access Service was modified, should it be a Custom 128-bit UUID?

  • Bluetooth Specification version 5, Volume 3, Part C section 12 in total and 12.4 for specifics. The Central Address Resolution characteristic is part of the GAP service. So it's in the correct place in the correct service. That also appears in the same place in BTLE spec 4.2, I don't have anything earlier than that. So as long as the device identifies as 4.2 or greater, I don't see an issue.
