I just can not understand how this thing works.

I am engineer, and I may be sensitive to user experience, or just a bad engineer but I do not get this. I read ALL the guides available in the last 5 hours,

this

this

and downloaded all of these files that has 0 meaning, 0 explanation, only tones of libraries called "SDK". A kit for development should have 1 visible file, that you can click and start writing your code.

I can not seems to understand, in simple words, where are you writing the lines of code and push the button to program the chip ? the actual window/editor/file that does that ? where is this software ?

People build such powerful tools and makes long comprehensive guides, and yet a hardware engineer with a master degree just can't figure out where the hell I edit and flash my code ???

  • Yeah having the same problem and I kinda regret moving to the Nordic semiconductors platform because of that some better video tutorial should be presented in youtube,

for example I followed this guide devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../ for using eclipse since I realy liked to code there when I was at the FRC robotics program and nothing still the program fails to recognize all the nrf related stuff when building and I cant find alot on how to fix it.

So I went ahead trying this tutorial on the Segger IDE and still the same problem didn't even get to the part when I try to flash the chip with my ST link.

  • Isn't that amazing? I was thinking that Nordic as a European company will have some degree of UX. Want simplicity? you do not deserve to use powerful tools, go use Arduino, its for dumb people. You have to be dirty and scrappy if you want this privilege. A simple window with a flashing button. Whats so hard???
