Undergraduate Student in Need of Advice

Hello everyone,

I am a college engineering student working on a circuits project, and I need some help. The project is to design a proximity device that sounds an alarm when a transmitter is out of range. The device includes a circuit with a transceiver that pairs with a small chip that includes a transmitter. The range of the device needs to be at least 20 feet (6 m). Preferably, the tranceiver circuit needs to include USB connectivity. Can any one point me in the right direction as to which products I need, and maybe how to approach this project? Thanks!

    • nRF24L01+ Modules: These are inexpensive 2.4 GHz transceivers that support communication between devices. They have a range of up to 100 meters in open space, so they would easily meet your 6-meter requirement. You can use them with an Arduino or other microcontroller. The nRF24L01+ also has variants with a higher power amplifier (nRF24L01+ PA/LNA) for even better range. I have some options to solve the problem if you can access stickman hook then the problem is solved.
