Programming OTA for the first time

Hi,

I am working with a nRF51822 board and I want to program in OTA. I know how to program over the air, but the only problem is that when I have a new unused board I need to precharge some packages that ave to be uploaded by serial port. Is it possible to program the board by OTA from the first time?

  • As endnode said, that's not possible. A normal production environment would have some sort of serialization, quality assurance post reflow so it's pretty easy to write a production software image to the chip at that time. If you really don't want to do that, many chip vendors and fabrication houses will burn an image to the chip before placement/reflow for a small fee.
