Very high current Issue with RF52832

Hello,

I bought Nrf 52832 breakout board.

Actually i want to measure the current consumption of chip as we want to use it. While advertising 26 bytes it consume really high current (10mA).

I want to ask it is real current consumed by chip(which i suppose is not true.)

Why the Nrf 52832 breakout board needs to high current. I am totally unable to get the real current needed for the chip.

Could you please help me to resolve the issue?

The Multimeter is able to measure average current and i have tested with other equipment. I have a question: How much current i should expect if i use sd_power_system_off() ?

If you are using Arduino code on the board, I have no idea what you should expect of current consumption when using BLE. All the information above was written assuming you were using code/examples from our SDK. The sleep current is given in the nRF52832 Product specifications. You can check out the ArduinoLowPower library, which have support for nRF52. Note that we do not support Arduino, and that this support is provided by third-parties for our chips.

Can you please suggest me a board that can be used for current Analysis of nrf52 (chip only) and please suggest what kind of debugger is required?. We want to buy it. Another question can i use IAR workbench for developing the software for nrf52 chip?

For current analysis, I would suggest using the Power Profiler Kit. You can read more about it in this blog post. If you want to measure current consumption of custom board without our nRF52 DK, you will need a J-Link debugger for connection between your computer and the PPK. You can also use it with our nRF5x DKs, which have built-in Segger OB J-Link debugger. The nRF5x DK is also a great development tool for use with our SDK.

Most examples in our SDK includes a project for IAR Workbench, in addition to Keil and GCC.

Thanks for your reply. If I use nRF5x DK the built in debugger would not effect the current measurements ? Because if debugger is connected then it will also need some power.
