Cannot make nrf52840 preview DK (pca10056 0.9.0) stop despite power cut

Question

Hi! 
 I am trying to measure the current profile of a pca10056 board using an oscilloscope. I cut SB40, as per instructions in the User Guide and powered it using only a coin cell. To make sure that the power cut (SB40) was successful, I did not install the 10ohm resistor, I pressed a button, expecting nothing would happen. A BLE advertisement was sent, which is the normal case when power is applied. 
 Why? 
 As I have cut the power to VDD_nRF, I was under the impression that the power to teh SOC was cut. Apparently is was not. 
 Studying the schematic for the Power Supply gives no help. A couple of hours trying to understand the ... convoluted schematic did not help. 
 Any help appreciated.

When adding the coin cell, connecting the 10ohm resistor and measuring the current, I got very nice results. The problem I had was probably because the SOC was powered through one or more input pins and their protection diodes. 
 Sorry for the mistake. I should have remembered this; it has happened to me before.
