Hello All,

I am working on Automotive project using nrf51824 SOC(QFN package) and designing the custom board for the same ,I mainly using RXD,TXD,VCC,GND , Programming Pins and PCB antena. now,

I Have attached my schematic and very much worried and confused about antenna design , how to extend further for PCB antenna ? what will be the dimensions for PCB antenna do i need to use balun Transfmr?? or if i want to use the chip antenna which makes are recommended?

Please clarify below points,

  1. which pins can configured as programming pins?

  2. Which pins can be configured as RXD and TXD pins? also how to initialize the received data over BLE i.e to smartphone?please specify pin numbers?

  3. I have attached my schematic please verify the same, as i have some confusions in Antenna design , what should be the dimensions for PCB antena? please verify my schematic and confirm.

    1. The programming pins of the nRF51824 are static and the pin numbers are stated in the nRF51824 Product Specification. If you do not have the nRF51824 Product Specification, then please contact your local Nordic Semiconductor sales representative.

    2. If you are referring to the UART TX and RX pins, then any digital I/O pin

    3. I cannot see any attachment, but if you want us to review your schematic and layout, then please provide the schematic as a PDF and the layout as Gerbers. We recommend that you use the antenna layout from reference designs, e.g. the nRF51 DK or the nRF51 Dongle.
