nRF52832 Ramp up time

In the spec it says that the typical ramp up time is 140us (or 40us in fast mode). But there is no details on maximum or minimum. What is the true tolerance on this value?

  • Hi Michael

We haven't characterized the max/min values for these timings unfortunately, so we don't really know.

The main reason for that is that we haven't seen issues with protocols that use this startup delay as a part of the protocol timing (such as the Enhanced Shockburst protocol).

You are not the first to ask though, and while I can't make any promises at this time it is possible that we will do a more accurate characterization in the future.

    Best regards

  • That is strange. I just tested it, and found it to be just above 40us.
I tested it a bit differently though, by routing the READY event to a GPIO, and measuring the length of the pulse on a scope.

Can you share the code you used to verify this?
