How to scan and access device information service using nRF52840?

Hello,

I am using nRF52840 PCA10056 DK i want to make my board as central device and scan for all nearby ble devices and display it's device id on terminal connected via UART to PC and connect to one particular device and need to access its gatt profiles and services like device information eg: how our nRFconnect app is scanning and displaying profiles.just i need to scan and display atleast one profile,Suggest any given example can do that i was executing each example.

Help is much appreciated.

There is an example that scans for and connect to a Nordic UART device service

Hi Roger Clark,

All the example given in examples/ble_central are scanning only for one particular UUID but i need to scan all available ble devices surrounding my board and display them via UART to PC.And connect to one device and get services of it like device information,battery information etc.

Help me how to scan all devices.

All the BLE_central examples will be receiving advertising packets from all devices. In on_ble_evt() handler, you will get a BLE_GAP_EVT_ADV_REPORT event when a advertising packet is received. Most examples then check for a UUID or a name before connecting, but you can choose to forward the advertising data over UART, and select any device you want to connect.

ya i did it by printing device names in adv_report_parse() function using ble_app_hrs_c_pca10056_s140 example but what the problem is it is keep on printing the device names repeatedly.how can i print all the devices only once?.

BLE_GAP_EVT_ADV_REPORT is being called repeatedly.

Please suggest me how to print only once all the devices is there any special function to do that.

Then you need to store the name of the discovered devices and check the name of the scanned device towards previously discovered devices. Your application only reports the received advertising packets, it cannot know what it has discovered earlier unless you store the information.

Hi Jorgen, How to get Device Information details when connected to particular device.For example i have connected to one device and in its GATT profile it has Device information service with UUID:0x180A and model number with UUID:0x2A24 and many other services i need to get details of those when connected.

I am unable to find where to do necessary changes,right now i am using ble_app_hrs_c_pca10056_s140 when connected i am getting battery status.

please Help me how to do it. Thank you.
