Can I have any OBD-II Application information

1. I want to know OBD-II Application scenario

• ignore how to get OBD-II information from the car. assume I already get the info
• generally, how often fetch the information from the car
• how often send the info to scanner? any scenario?

If there is any example code for nrf51, it would be helpful

2. Actually, I'm concerning BLE central device which scan OBD-II BLE device and get info.

• any information that I can start from is appreciated.

Im am not quite sure that you are asking this question in wright place.

Recently I used to work in automotive industry and the only answer I find for questions 3 and 4 is: it depands beacuse each signal might have different refresh rate. What is more usually each car have different signal databse.

I would recommend to start with "diagnostic" description for a car you are interested in (if you will be able to get it).

Thank you. I know it's quite good place to ask for. Just nrf51824 mentioned "Diagnostics retrieval (OBD-II)" as Application, so I thought Nordic may give some info.
