I have a android phone, and it says there's a FW update (1.1.0) for the thingy (it says I'm on 0.0.0). I confirm that I want it, but nothing happens. What can I try? I get some of the environmental data, (but no temp) as well as other sensors

Hi @Jimm58 does it crash automatically after starting DFU? When the DFU process starts you should be able to see the Thingy:52 starting to blink in yellow and the grayed out status icons/texts will start to change its colors. One other thing you could do is to turn off the thingy and turn it on with the button on top of thingy pressed. This will put the thingy in to boot loader mode and you should be able to go back to the DFU screen and press the DFU button. The app will scan for the Thingy in DFU mode and you should be able to connect and start the DFU process from there on wards
It doesn't update from any device I've tried, doesn't show any indication it is updating, and I can get it to crash by tapping the blue icon more than once. Tried turning it off and holding the button when I turned it back on. Same thing. Nothing happens when i tap the blue icon. Could it be the device I have is bad?
@jimm58 Could you try to use nRF Connect to flash the thingy? You can download the firmware package from here www.nordicsemi.com/.../61954. Like I mentioned before you can try to put it in to boot loader mode and try doing DFU. Make sure to copy the downloaded DFU package to your phone and try using nRF Connect. Please let us know if this works so that we can find the root cause.
With nRF and the .zip on my phone, and the thiny connected, if I tap the DFU icon, I get a quick "Uploading" followed by 'DFU Service Not Found" Same if I turn it on with the button pressed.
