NUS serial port in Linux

Hi all,

we are using the Nordic Uart Service in our product and Id like to connect our hardware to a Linux powered PC. Does anyone know how much effort it would be to make the NUS appear as virtual serial port in Linux, like SPP does for classic Bluetooth or like a USB Serial converter?

This documentation link might be helpful. This Devzone case might also be helpful. There is currently windows support for Nordic Uart Service, but no Linux support (see link). Should be able to use NUS as a serial port in Linux, but it could take a bit of effort to get it to work. This user was able to get it to work, so it shouldn't be all too difficult hopefully.

Thanks Bjørn for the answer. Interesting that there is a PC nRF Uart application for Windows. My intention is to use a generic USB Bluetooth dongle and connect to a nRF52 powered device (no Segger JLink involved) which runs the NUS. After connection, the NUS serial port would show up as /dev/tty device in Linux. I found a very interesting Blog post describing more or less what I would like to do devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../ but running a serial port emulation on Linux instead of the 6lowpan part. Will need to get into Linux system programming then :)
