Adding a PA to the nRF51822?

Howdy all,

Has anyone added an external power amplifier to the nRF51822? From what I recall the BLE spec allows for 10mW output power (well, 10mW would be the maximum for global acceptance -- there are some country related exceptions that would allow higher output power from what I understand).

Even at +4dBi, there's still quite a bit of headroom available (+4dBi =~ 2.5mW).

Anyone done this and has any horror stories or tips to share? Obviously I know that we'd have to do FCC/ETSI/IC/TELEC all over again...
