How to turn nrf8002

Dear developers,

I need to turn nrf8002 to master mode in order to use Alert Notifications of "Profiles - On Master" offered by nrfgoStudio. I need these profiles to activate the pwm signal (already present in the nrf8002) when a event , like incoming call or instant message, is sent to the nrf8002 (master) from the slave or consumer (in my project, an Iphone 5s (IOS7) or a cell phone with Android).

Do you know how to switch nrf8002 to master and the cell phone to slave?

Hi,

The nRF8002 is a peripheral device only, this means it is a slave device. However it support both the GATT server and the GATT client role. So the services you see on the "profiles on master" tab in nRFgo studio are supposed to be located in the gatt server on the central device. Please take a look at our example apps for iOS, nRF Toolbox or nRF Proximity, to see how to utilize this.

Thank you for your answer. In other words, that services shown on "Profiles - On Master" tab are services provided by the Central (the Phone), so, in order to usem them (i.e., active PWM ouput when there is an incoming call), I should write some software to get the nRF8002 subscribed to the GATT server and use that service, Am I right?

I think this is possible since Apple unlocked ANCS Access. On the other hand, I have already done some tests using nRFProximity and nRFToolbox, and as far I can see, these apps only uses services located in GATT client (only work services in the "Profiles - In Slave" tab), or, does Nordic any example using GATT server services?

Yes, you will have to write software for the Central to utilize these.

I just tested nRF Toolbox. At the least it has Find me - immediate alert.

Just another question. On nRFGo studio, Is there any appearance code (in hex) that should be introduced in order to use "Alert Notifications" exposed in "On - Master Profiles Tab" (such us On call, SMS, Instant message, ect)?
