We are preparing to get BT qualification for our product, developed with the 6 stack now, however want to update to 7 when it is finally released. A comment from the testing agency says that changing the stack makes it a new design requiring retesting of the phy layer again. Our design includes a custom PCB using the 51822 and the newer version of the ST balun. My understanding is that changing the stack should not mess with the PHY, thus not requiring retesting. We had expected to test on the first go round, but it seems to not make sense to do so for each update of the higher layers of the stack. Comments from someone at Nordic would be appreciated.
