How to use 10040

Hello , ebery one Please let me have a question about PCA 10040.

When you connect a USB cable, it acts as a virtual drive and if you copy hex format (such as Hart rate monitor) by dragging and dropping to a virtual drive I think that it acts as BLE (Nordic_HRM), but would you teach the following?

I want to debug the Step execution in the KEIL environment by writing a sample program to the PCA 10040.

  1. Do you have a J-LINK (Debugging) function?
  2. Do you debug by connecting an external debugger to P20 (SWCIO, SWCCLK, etc) on the PCA10040
  3. If you erase Flash with Debugger, can you use HEX write function with virtual drive?

  • I'm sorry but I don't work with Keil so I cannot help you. If I understand it correctly all should be set and work out of the box IF you install all the SW (mainly SEGGER J-Link package after you installed Keil so it registers with it), attach your Dev Kit and verify that it installs proper SEGGER drivers (e.g. by using nRFgo Studio where it should be visible and you must be able to recover/erase/program the nRF5x target on the board). If you still have problem please submit new question with very precise description of what environment you use, what tools, how you installed them, which tutorial you follow, in which step you hang, what did you expect to happen and what happened instead.
