Radio test example for FCC and CE certification

Hi,

I am using radio test example in SDK for fcc and ce certification. In this example we can confirm the Tx tests using a spectrum analyzer. Could you let us know how to confirm Rx tests? To frame the question differently, what is the outcome of Rx tests(enabling constant carrier on Channel 00, 40, 80) and how does the certification body confirm the Rx tests? Thanks in Advance

Hi,

The RX tests test leakage in receive mode, setting up the nRF to listen to a specified channel and investigating that the LO leakage is below specified limits. You can also test receive sensitivity by using the DTM example to generate a known packet and then evaluation how many were received at a given signal strength level. There's more infomation in nAN34, I found the python readmes and scripts particularly useful.

Hi,

Contact the test house you plan to use, they will have this knowledge ready. I believe sensitivity testing is part of the RF PHY for BLE, since DTM is specified in Bluetooth core spec. they will definitely have compatible equipment. A list of test facilities can be found here.
