2.4GHz (nRF24L01)

Hi,

For a home automation project I'm considering using a Freescale development board FRDM-K64F with an RF module nRF24L01+ Nordic 2.4GHz Radio for communication as edge-end device. However this edge-end device needs to communicate with a gateway device that has IP connection to the Internet.

My questions:

• are there compatible 2.4GHz (nRF24L01) devices (eg. USB dongle) that I can put into the gateway device (so I can communicate with the Freescale)?

• is there a Java library (for development on the gateway device) that can read/write from/to 2.4GHz Radio device?

Hi GuyD,

Yes there are nrf24L01 and nrf24L01+ usb devices available on EBAY, etc. They appear as a serial device mapped to a COM port and are controlled using a simple AT command set, e.g. AT+SET=40270102030405. Don't know how good they are as I have never used one.
