Can I use over the air DFU for proprietary application for nrf15822?

I've written an application that uses the gazell proprietary stack for nrf51822 and I want to use OTA-DFU using BLE. Is it possible to upload the new firmware using BLE but boot tho the main application that uses the proprietary mode?

I've got the same question here. Or else is it possible to do OTA DFU via Gazell? Is there any example code available?
