Bluetooth dual mode + audio DSP

I would like to process and transfer decent quality audio (SBC A2DP) over bluetooth classic in addition to BLE sensor and display data transfer. Not looking for aptX level audio quality, but must be sufficient for standard conversations and media. Which Nordic BT SoC would be best for me to look at? Would this require a dedicated DSP or hardware-based codec to handle this audio? If so, are there any existing packaged and certified modules that provide such functionality?

Yes, This is my plan too , we need original music data be received , and then we can use a coec to improve audio effects.

Is that a problem for nrf52840 ? 2M bandwith is very good for muic!

Understood aptX may be overkill; is there any implementation of an alternate codec such as Opus (opus-codec.org) on an nrf dev board?

Opus encoder is the default codec in the Smart Remote reference design. It also supports other codecs: ADPCM and BroadVoice.

Now the problem I encounter is:

nRF52840 uses broadvoice32  to encode a frame, which takes 20ms (but decoding only takes 2ms),

so it can't support 16bit 8khz audio.
