Can you use a standard tool chain with the nRF51822 mkit?

Many Bluetooth library features are not yet available and so I would like to use a standard tool chain to compile sample programs and my own programs to run on the mkit.

Yes, it is possible. You can right-click on your project on the mbed-IDE and export it to Keil. If GCC/GDB is your preferred toolchain, please see this thread:
