nRF8001 kit and probe/sensor data

Please excuse my basic question but I'm new to this - I am needing to have data collected from probe/sensor, which would be in a device, sent every hour to an android app, whould the nRF8001 kit be the best option, considering its low energy usage etc. What else would I need and would you be able to supply all components.

The nRF8001 is a connectivity solution only, so it will also need an application controller. I would consider using the nRF5x series instead. To be more specific I would choose the nRF52 series as it has the most up to date bluetooth stack and lowest power consumption.
