nRF8001 certification

I am working with a nRF8001 for a project with an attached STM32F401RE MCU.

We do realize the nRF8001 is nearing end of life, but, we have created a product that will have limited release (only 50 units) and need to acquire certification before shipping it. We will be switching to the nRF52832 for the next revision, PCB design is now in process.

We are releasing a product and need to obtain certification in Japan (TELEC certification). The company doing the certification is in China and they request a few things, which, I don't have RF experience and don't now how to accomplish.

I am hoping someone can shed some light on this.

We are requested to provide a few things...

  • Fixed frequency cable
  • Fixed frequency software operating instructions

I have searched over the nRF8001 documents and can't find a way to put the nRF8001 into a mode that outputs a signal to satisfy the request.

I am assuming I need to provide a custom firmware image that can setup the nRF8001's config to put it in some diagnostic mode, but can't seem to figure out how to accomplish this.

I would appreciate some assistance from someone at Nordic or another company who has gone through RF certification for the nRF8001 radio. Although FCC or CA is not the same... it is similar and would like to know details from people who have done this.
