nRFgo Studio no boards connected

Hello together..

i have a problem with the nRF51 DK. I tried a little bit with this DEVkit i.e. copy the blinky example to the JLINK storage. This works fine.

Regarding to this Tutorial: devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../ When im using the nRFgo Studio to load a softdevice to the board, nRFgo only displays "no boards connected". Perhaps i did something wrong.

By the way, the links in the tutorial to the compatibility matrix and SDK documentation only show an empty page :-/

I hope someone can help me :)

data: nRFgo Studio: v1.21.1.3 Board: PCA10028 v1.2.0 SDK: 11

Thanks for your help

  • Hi Sascha,

I have fixed the dead links in the tutorial. Thank you for letting us know!

Please verify that you have installed the nRF5x Command Line Tools, you download the installer from this page or by using this link.

If that does not work, you can try to update the firmware of the Segger J-Link OB-chip.

Step 1: Download the J-Link OB firmware (nRF5x-OB-JLink-IF), found on this page or using this link.

Step 2: Turn off the nRF51 DK, press and hold the BOOT/RESET button on the DK while you power on the nRF51 DK. The nRF51 DK should now show up as BOOTLOADER and not JLINK.

Step 3: Drag and drop the J-Link OB-SAM3U128-V2-NordicSemi 160212.bin file you downloaded in to the BOOTLOADER drive. It will disconnect and LED 5 will start blinking.

Step 4: Power off and power on the nRF51 DK again, and the device should again show up as a JLINK drive.
