Can not connect to nRF52, no USB in Ubuntu in Win10

I'm a newbie so sorry if these are silly questions but I've run out of ideas.

I am trying to build and flash zephyr RTOS onto the nRF52 DK but niether JLinkExe or nrfjprog can see the boards. In fact it does show any USB devices in Ubuntu at all.

Is this a common issue using Ubuntu for Windows or is there a good step by step guide to follow?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

Billy..

  • Thanks Turbo J, but after a great deal of shouting at my computer and feverishly trawling google I noticed that the J-Link USB ports were appearing as serial ports COM3 (nRF52840) and COM5 (nRF52832). Now i just need figure out how i add myself into the 'allowed' group to access these ports.

in the meantime I've abandoned flashing and using a terminal emulator via Linux now using windows to develop, only using the Linux environment to build. :)
