One software (S110 or S120) to allow two BLE devices to communicate?

Hello,

I am trying to build a single device, lets say loaded with firmware "A".

I would like to have two of these devices, both with firmware "A" to detect proximity to each other. If the two move out of range, I would like the link loss to trigger some event on each device (again only one firmware "A")

Is this possible at all? From what I have read it seems I can use S110 on a peripheral device and S120 on a central device, but then I would need to build two separate devices each loaded with separate firmware "A" and "B".

Is there no way to do this without building two separate devices each with different firmware? I have heard some mention of an S130 soft device that might aid in this matter? Could I get some more information on this?

Hi, the S130 SoftDevice can function as both a central and a peripheral concurrently, so you are able to advertise and scan in different time slots. The S130 is available as an Alpha right now at Nordic Mypage.
