raspberry pi bluetooth 5

Hi

I am researching options for my bachelor project which happens to be about bluetooth 5, where I am looking to develop a smartlighting system using Bluetooth 5 mesh.

  • I am looking to use a RaspberryPi to represent nodes in a BT mesh network but I need upgrade to Bluetooth 5. Is it possible to use one of Nordic's solutions with the RaspberryPi, to give it Bluetooth 5 capabilities?

  • Is it possible to program a chip with Bluetooth 5 capabilities with one of your development kits and then move it to another print or mount it to the RaspberryPi, or are the chips only compatible with your development board?

  • Hi again,

I started off wanting to use RaspberryPi's for the project due to my experience using them, but after looking into the nrf52 series I realized that this must be a better solution for what I am trying to accomplish.

Is it possible to use one nrf52 DK for development, then push software changes to other nRF52810 chips using the OAT feature or connecting it to the board? Or is it necessary to get multiple nRF52 boards for each SoC?
