pc_ble_driver_py examples issues

Hi,

I am trying to run the examples for the pc_ble_driver_py and I get some issues.

advertising.py says "board not found" heart_rate_collector.py gives a calledProcessError when trying to use nrfjprog

Any idea?

Also, is it possible to run those example using a dongle (not a DK board)? I have flashed my dongle with: connectivity_2.0.1_115k2_with_s130_2.0.1.hex.

Hi Fred,

The first error seems to be because you are passing lower-case letters in the COM port in the command-line arguments. It should work if you pass COM6, or pass no COM port in the command-line and select it in the application instead.

Do you have the required drivers and tools installed? These are required by pc-ble-driver to check and flash the connectivity firmware.

Thanks Jorgen, I have programmed the PCA10031 USB dongle with connectivity_2.0.1_115k2_with_s130_2.0.1.hex

I am now working from my home laptop and I get a different result, advertising.py script hangs and then close after a while.

Is the script supposed to output advertising devices?

This is the expected behavior of the advertising example. This example is not supposed to output advertising devices, but rather advertise itself. You should check with nRF Connect on a smartphone if you see any devices advertising with the name "Example". The example have a default timeout of 180 seconds. When timeout is over, the example will exit.

I've managed to pick up my advertising device using the other (heart rate) example. So I'm going to use that script to get started.
