NUS and IPSP Accepter Profile

Hi all,

My BLE device uses the NUS profile to send data to a connected smart device. At the same time it should also be possible to connect to a RPi/Linux based gateway using the IPSP profile (in case no smart device is available). Since the IoT SDK is now part of the normal SDK, is that something that could be done right now with the current version of the nRF5 SDK (14.2.0)?

Yes, you can run IPSP in parallell with a conventional BLE device. IPSP runs over connection oriented l2cap channels, but there is no problem running a conventional BLE link at the same time.

Make sure that your radio parameters for both links give you enough time on the radio and make sure the SoftDevice configuration gives it enough RAM.
