Error: Flash download failed - "Cortex - M4"

Hi,

I am using the nRF52 PCA10040 board. The memory settings are IROM1 - { start 0x1B000, Size 0x65000 }, IRAM1 - { Start 0x20004000, Size 0xC000 }. The board was working fine. Recently, it has been giving the error 'Error: Flash download failed - "Cortex - M4"'. The build output shows 'Programming Failed!'. Perhaps, this is a hardware problem. I am having this checked. Please let me know if this is a software issue and, if so, how to resolve it.

Hi,

I have been able to resolve this issue. It appears that using of nRFConnect desktop app may have reloaded the softdevice in an area required by the app. Hence, the softdevice had to be erased. This was done with

nrfjprog -f NRF52 -e

Subsequenthly the softdevice and the app had to loaded as usual. This worked.
