enabling BLE 5.0 2Mb

According to this article, https://www.nordicsemi.com/eng/Products/Bluetooth-5, it appears that the nRF52 should be able to support standard BLE at 2Mb. However when I look in the libraries and examples it appears that the only support for this data rate is with Gazelle. Unfortunately, Gazelle is a proprietary standard and we need to achieve these data rates while interfaceing with an Android or IoS device.

Can someone point me to an example that enables the 2Mb data over standard BLE 5?

See PHY Update Procedure chapter in the S132 Softdevice v5.0.0 specification. The ble_app_uart example has code for this  (SDK 14.2).
