nRF Beacon iOS example app

We are trying to modify the nRF Beacon example app for iOS that Nordic provides. We are unable to get app to see the devices from the iBeacon kit when they can be seen from other apps including the Android version of the same app.

Are you aware of any issue that have arisen with the most recent iOS updates to cause this? If so, please provide any fixes you are aware of.

Hi,

I am not aware of any issue in the latest iOS updates. Have you changed the manufacturer ID (company identifier) to 0x004C? In the example , the company identifier should be 0x0059 by default, which is identifier for Nordic. If you want an Apple device to recognise a beacon as an Apple beacon, you need to use Apple's manufacturer ID in the data(0x004C).
