1Mbps BLE mode vs 1Mbps nRF mode

I notice that the sensitivity for the nRF52832 is defined as being ~2dB better in BLE mode than in NRF mode. I have also tested this to be correct.

However, I wonder - is there any drawbacks of running in BLE mode (power consumption, or anything else) compared to running in NRF mode? Or rather - let me rephrase it like this: If developing a proprietary protocol - is there any benefits of running in NRF mode compared to running in BLE mode, since it will cause 2dB less sensitivity?

Hi,

There are two difference between NRF mode and BLE mode:

- Difference in deviation, which impact SNR and cause the ~2dB difference in sensitivity:

- Difference in radio timing, in NRF mode it is 130us from TXEN task to first address bit on-air, while in BLE mode it is 150us.
